Chapter 15

The next morning, Megan left the bungalow while Vanessa was showering, and headed towards the resort’s main building. She wanted to buy a baseball-style cap at the gift shop, to wear while she, Vanessa, Molly and Ariel went sailing today. In addition to the ibuprofen, a baseball cap was yet another thing she had forgotten to pack.

As she crossed the lobby, she took a glance at the huge video screen the resort had near the reception desk, and which was always playing a slideshow of images, most of them featuring happy same-sex couples enjoying their time on the property.

Her cursory glance at the screen done, she looked away as she continued walking to the gift shop. But then she stopped.

Wait…what?

She looked back at the screen, which was now showing a photo of the pristine ocean, taken from the resort’s beach. But a moment ago, the picture had been different, and Megan could have sworn…

She stood there, watching the slideshow, wanting to make sure she wasn’t going crazy.

The ocean photo was followed by one showing two guys sipping cocktails at the bar. A few seconds later, the photo changed again.

Two other guys, in the pool, arms around each other.

Another ocean shot, this one taken at sunset.

Two women enjoying a romantic dinner.

A lesbian wedding.

Two women holding hands while walking along the beach.

Another sunset.

Then…

Megan’s mouth dropped open when the next image was of Molly and Brenda, cuddled close together on that two-seater lounger, smiling at the camera, looking for all the world like the happiest lesbian couple in the South Pacific!

“Seriously, what the fuck?” Megan exclaimed out loud, drawing the attention of a pair of older women who just happened to be walking by, evidently wondering if the young woman standing in the middle of the lobby was responding to voices in her head.

“Hey sis!”

Megan turned and saw Molly and Brenda walking towards her.

“Hey!” Megan greeted, hoping her voice sounded normal.

“Megan, Brenda; Brenda, Megan, my sister,” Molly said, handling the introductions.

Brenda was about Molly’s age, Megan figured, and very pretty in that middle America sorority girl/homecoming queen kind of way which always garnered a lot of attention from the jocks.

The oddest thing was that Megan was thinking now that they made a cute couple.

“So nice to meet you!” Brenda enthused, as if she had been waiting her whole life just to meet Megan. Megan expected Brenda’s next words to be, “Thank you for your interest in Lambda Pi Lambda! I can’t wait to tell you what a great organization this is!”

“Nice to meet you too,” Megan said. “Thanks for keeping my sister company.”

“Are you kidding?” Brenda asked. “We are having soooooo much fun together!”

“Are you two heading to breakfast?” Megan asked.

“No,” Molly told her. “We came down to look for our picture on that.” She pointed at the giant vid screen.

“I already saw it,” Megan told her.

“Did you really?” Brenda practically squealed.

“How did we look?” Molly asked, excitedly.

Like you two read Jillian Ashley books and know what Chapter 25 means.

“Um…happy!” Megan told her.
